Cristiano Ronaldo had a stellar year last season, scoring an amazing 42 goals, beating out George Bests record. This feat was amazing not only for the number of goals, but for the fact that it was done by a winger and not a striker. Many of Cristiano Ronaldo's goals were unusual in the fact that they included a dizzying number of unusual kicks, headers, back heal kicks, crotch goal, sliding goals, one on ones, and let's not forget his patented free kick which makes opposing goalkeepers tremble at the thought.
Cristiano Ronaldo's free kicks are amazing because they fool the goal keeper. This is done by Cristiano's uncanny ability to take the spin out of the ball, effectively making it hover unexpectedly, much like a knuckle ball does in baseball. To date there isn't one individual that I can think of who can do this, and this makes Cristiano Ronaldo a true football genius.
